About Me Q&A

Who am I?

I am a freelance content creator and content writer living in Connecticut.

Where did I graduate from?

I graduated from the University of South Carolina. I obtained a Bachelors of Arts, Journalism and Mass Communications, in Mass Communications. I also have a cognate in Business Administration. I graduated with a 3.57 cumulative GPA and a 3.72 departmental GPA.

What are some of my prior work experiences?

While the majority of work I do now is through contracting/freelancing or with job portals, I have had many formal work positions in the past.

My first writing position was with my campus newspaper, The Daily Gamecock. I wrote many articles for the Arts & Culture section and Opinion section – including movie reviews, college life quick takes, and self-development.

In 2019, I worked as a writing intern with StudyBreaks, a pop-culture and college life digital publication.

Towards the tail end of 2019, I began my pursuit of content creation by freelancing as a videographer and music video editor. I continue to make video content and animations currently as a side hustle.

What topics do I enjoy writing about?

I enjoy writing about creativity, self-development, business, culture, mass media, technology, economics and politics. I am aware that is a very broad net, and am constantly researching relevant information to each of those fields to be able to write both as a hobby and a profession.

How would I describe my writing style?

I write using a mixture of formal and informal tones, and try to use the parlance of whatever trade I am writing for. Outlines are essential for me to work, unless I have a lot of prior experience with a topic. I also have a bit of forming extensive lists with topics, tips, sources, or information to reference within my work; This often serves as an informal base to many of my pieces and directs the beginning stages of my research.

What are some of my strengths?

I am very dedicated to the craft of writing and content creation in a stalwart and sedulous manner. While I understand the value of compromise and collaboration, especially when representing a brand or an individual’s product or likeness, I try to put my own spin on each project I work on. I value research and input greatly when looking to find direction in a piece of work, and am always looking for criticism to grow from. Keeping that in mind, I try to be as direct as possible when I work to avoid confusion and to foster more authentic relationships with colleagues and employers.

What am I currently trying to improve about myself?

I possess a growth mindset and am always trying to grow upon my weaknesses. As a freelancer, keeping a consistent schedule of work and contacting individuals for new writing opportunities is something I always am working on. I am an introvert by nature, and ironically enough given the purpose of this webpage – I don’t like writing about myself. Many writers and people in the creative field often comment that the most amount of time is spent finding new opportunities. I echo that sentiment and am currently trying to expand my social sphere and body of work. Also as a young adult with relatively little to no life experience compared to the average writer, I try to keep my experience into perspective while writing and always push myself to do an extra round of edits and look out for redundancies in my work.

Where can I be contacted?
